Engineers
Our team of engineers liaise with clients whilst carrying out duties as directed by the client, as well as applying engineering knowledge and expertise, building, and maintaining relationships, supporting financial / contract management, quality orientation, safety leadership and continuous development in all aspects of crane, lifting and support service activities.
Roles include project engineers, senior project engineers, service engineers and planning engineers.
Mechanical / electrical / Hydraulic technicians
With a wide range of different roles within mechanics, electrical and hydraulics, duties can include the repair or replacement of defective machinery parts, maintenance, fabrication and testing.
Roles include crane mechanics, millwright, offshore electricians, and hydraulic technicians.
Inspectors
Sparrows’ inspectors, inspection engineers, NDT technicians and senior inspectors provide inspection services of equipment or components, safety management, worksite organisation, and supervisory leadership on rope access work scopes.

Riggers
Riggers demonstrate safety leadership and continuous development in all aspects of crane rigging & lifting and support service activities. Duties include ensuring client lifting operations are controlled, planned, supervised, and executed safely. In addition, the requirement to carry out lifting equipment maintenance and inspections and control client and subcontractor lifting equipment utilised across all operating boundaries is crucial.
Crane specialists
Our crane specialists consist of crane supervisors, crane operators, crane foremen and crane technicians. The primary responsibilities of these roles include all aspects of crane service in the field and shop, inspection, repair and testing, specialist crane support and troubleshooting, supporting both onshore and offshore scopes of work.
Recruitment fraud warning
Please be aware that there have been recent incidents where organisations / individuals have contacted people and made offers of false employment opportunities with Sparrows, either claiming to act as a third party or using the names of Sparrows employees. Such communications are fraudulent and do not originate from Sparrows, nor are they associated in any way with Sparrows recruitment process.
These organisations / individuals may request personal information and/or money in order to process an employment application. Sparrows, or any third party recruiting on our behalf, will never ask for money at any point in the recruitment process. Should you be asked to make a payment you should assume that the requester is not providing genuine services and that any offers made are false.
During the Sparrows recruitment process, you will always meet in person with a Sparrows employee for an interview at our premises before any job offer is made.
Other signs that an email may be fraudulent include the use of free email accounts, such as Hotmail or Gmail, and spelling and grammatical errors in the email. If you are unsure of the authenticity of any job offer or request for information, do not respond to the email.
