Sparrows speed ahead to support CHILDREN 1st

On Sunday 13th June the Royal Balmoral Estate Grampian, played host to the first ever bikeBalmoral mountain bike event. As event sponsor Sparrows were proud to support CHILDREN 1st, a charity which helps children and families change their lives for the better.

Hundreds of bike enthusiasts of all ages and abilities enjoyed the stunning setting of the Royal Estate. Participating on the day were Sparrows Contract Support Engineer Alan Smiles (pictured left) and HSEQ Director Howard Dunn, who took part in one of the four events: the 10 mile scenic cycle.

At the finish line Howard Dunn said: “The scenery along the route was simply breathtaking and I am sure that this event will become a highlight in the mountain bike calendar. It was super to see so many cyclists, from toddlers on tiny bikes to hardened, no fear, cross country racers - a great family day out for a very good cause.”
