Aberdeen Hydraulics’ Open Day Success

20/01/2010

As Aberdeen Hydraulics Ltd opened the doors of its new multi-million pound headquarters at Denmore Road, Bridge of Don, customers enjoyed a relaxing and informal atmosphere of food, technology and chat.

Chief Operating Officer, Steve Ord (pictured) used the informal BBQ event on September 10th to provide customers with a product range overview, a tour of the premises and an insight into what makes the company so successful.

The company which designs, manufactures and repairs complex hydraulic equipment, control systems, pumps and motors, has a worldwide client base, with a large percentage of work pertaining to the marine, subsea and drilling sectors of the oil and gas industry.

“Our first Open Day has allowed visitors to see why we’ve become a major player in the UK fluid power market. We are thrilled to have this chance to show our extensive office and workshop facilities and demonstrate our increased technical know-how and financial stability since joining the Energy Cranes Group in August 2007.

“Our sales have gone up by over 70% over the past two years and we are very confident that this level of growth will continue. Our business strategy has been extensively planned and is now coming into fruition with the amalgamation of our previous sites and a 20% increase in staff which is set to continue with the ongoing recruitment of new staff and apprentices.”

At a time when many service contractors are experiencing slow down Aberdeen Hydraulics has seen a steady increase in business.

The new facility’s range of equipment includes a 300m² space for manufacture and structural assembly; a 475m², 500kw test bay for all open and closed centre pumps; high and low speed dynamometer rig; valve and electronic test rigs; accumulator and cylinder test rigs; a two storey 350m² warehouse for hydraulic components with trade counter access and finally a 750m² service area with HP test bay and a clean room/laboratory area.

Aberdeen Hydraulics has also developed an extensive range of training courses, which are all underwritten by NFPC - the National Fluid Power Centre.
Distribution partnership agreements are also in place for a large number of products from brands including Bosch Rexroth, Hydra Permco, Webster Instruments and Hycon. Aberdeen Hydraulics also has stockist arrangements for MP Filtri & ASA coolers amongst the 1,500 items it sells.
Steve Ord adds: “We are always looking for new ideas to help us provide a better service to our customers. We have stringent quality management procedures which play an important part in our everyday business. As a growing company we will never be complacent about the service we provide to our customers. Our new facility, technological know-how and experienced personnel will continue to differentiate us from our competitors for many years to come.”
