2 Day Training Course

Target Audience Training is suitable for Rigging loft controllers, riggers and other personnel involved with the issue of, and receiving of lifting equipment or involved in carrying out planned maintenance and inspection of in-use portable lifting equipment.

Training Outcome This training course is designed to provide delegates with a better knowledge and understanding of the legal responsibilities and practical content required to carry out in-service inspection on various portable items of lifting equipment.

Introduction:

• Regulations 1998;
• Codes of Practice;
• HSE Guidance Notes;
• British Standards;
• MHSWR Risk Assessment Process;
• Other supporting legislation and standards

Introduction to Lifting Equipment Examination:

• To understand and identify main operations of examination of lifting equipment.

Practical Section

Procedure for Control of Lifting Equipment:

• Working knowledge of controlling the inspection of lifting equipment

Equipment Register and Control Documents:

• Working knowledge of equipment register list; Working knowledge of inspection of lofting equipment

Portable Lifting Gear Examination Procedures:

• Ability to inspect safe for use portable lifting gear

Inspection of Lifting Equipment:

• Opportunity to inspect various equipment from rigging loft

Final Examinations

• Delegate undertakes final examination
