• Legislation & Safe Systems of Work: Overview of pertinent legislation, Codes of Practice, Best Industry Practice etc.
• Specific crane(s) in use: Main structural components, Stability factors, Power/transmission/control systems, Wire ropes and construction/rejection
• Controls: Instrumentation, Control layout, Wave compensation systems and Shut-down procedures
• Operational Limitations: Manufacturers structural limited SWLs, Certifying authorities restrictions, Dynamic loads/conditions, Duty charts, Dynamic load de-rating parameters, Environmental restrictions and Operational difficulties
• Layout: Crane location/s, Operating parameters, Radius ranges and Proximity hazards
• Safe Working Procedures for Banksmen: Banksman duties and Recommended hand signals
• Safe Slinging Selection & Use: Basic slinging principles and Sling inspection
