Sparrows Fluid Power raises standards to ISO 9001

Sparrows Fluid Power, formerly Aberdeen Hydraulics, has been awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification following a BSI audit in January 2010. The scope of the certification is:

Design, manufacture, repair, refurbishment, installation, test, commissioning and rental of hydraulic components and systems. Provision of offshore and site personnel. Provision of hydraulic training courses.

“ISO 9001 certification provides our customers with an organised and consistent management system which focuses on their requirements, assures production, service and delivery, and demonstrates Sparrows Fluid Power’s capability to an increasingly demanding client audience.  We are committed to continual improvement of our system, products and services and achieve this by complying with procedures and identifying opportunities for improvement” says Howard Dunn, VP HSEQ.

Achievement of ISO 9001 has been a team achievement by both Sparrows Fluid Power personnel and Sparrows HSEQ, focussed on the development and implementation of procedures suited to the business scale and its critical processes.

“The move to our new purpose-built premises last summer marked the ideal time to upgrade quality management processes at Sparrows Fluid Power,” says Doug Sedge CEO. “Certification, however, is not a substitute for people’s professionalism; we, and our clients, still rely on our engineers and technicians to design and deliver innovative solutions to the industry’s hydraulics challenges.”
